GRAL (High-resolution Gravimetry by Altimetry): This project led by the GRGS / SHOM team is carried out in collaboration with IFREMER (Department of Marine Geosciences) and IUEM (UMR 6538 Ocean Areas - UBO - CNRS) in Brest (France). It involves background research needed for upcoming altimetry missions. Its purpose is to make an assessment of the gravimetric models that are currently available and, after identifying specific needs in terms of spatial coverage and precision, to determine an altimetry mission for the future. The contributions from missions that are already planned and the possibilites created by various micro-satellites will be evaluated.

Colloquium Session: "Altimetry for a high resolution gravity field: what kind of future is possible?" (in French)
