The WGM (Word Gravity Map) project, launched in early 2008 at the Bureau Gravimétrique International (BGI) is a gravimetric map project under the aegis of the Commission for the Geological Map of the World (CCGM) with the help of UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization), which is part of a series of global digital geological and geophysical maps published and updated by the CCGM. This new global digital map is intended to provide a high-resolution image of world-wide gravimetric anomalies (free air and Bouguer) based on available information about the Earth's gravity field. The WGM project aims to publish global maps of gravitational anomalies, in paper and digital formats, for use in education and research.
